The Fate of Knights
Would there be any way to reward the knights that have worked so valiantly for us and we have put so many hours and Silver, Iron, Bronze sweat , tears, and Gold into training and equipping?

If there was a way to upgrade our knights and thereby retaining the experience, or at least some of the experience when upgrading, we could then choose to keep our vassals or sell them off as the case may be.

A possible way would be to spend experience points and gold to upgrade them to a better quality Knight. (Type I to Type II, etc...)

First Gold cost would bee 100 * the level type.
- Type II = 200 gold
- Type V = 500 gold

Then

One possible experience point pricing calculation could be:
Current Knight Level = CKL
Current Knight ExpPoints = CKXP
Points to Achieve Current Level = PCKL
Points to achieve CKL+1 = PNKL

The calculation applied to the Knights experience points:
CKXP= CKXP-((PNKL-PCKL)/2)

So here are the example constants: (Using smaller, easier numbers to work with)

Knight = Sir Frank
CKT = Type II
CKL = Level 4
CKXP = 4350
PCKL = Exp to gain level 4 = 4,000
PNKL = Exp to gain Level 4+1(5) = 5000

Applying CKXP= CKXP-((PNKL-PCKL)/2)

CKXP = 4350 - ((5000 - 4000) / 2)
CKXP = 4350 - 500

RESULTS:
Sir Frank's Exp is now 3850.
1. Yes that drops him down 1 level.
2. Sir Frank is now a better (Type III) Knight
3. Sir Knight's Liege is 300 Gold lighter (Type III * 100 Gold)

Just a wandering thought

~A~

I like this idea, selling Knights at market seems very wrong, I will be having words with Ben about it lol.

You should be able to train your knight up to a next level knight somehow, don't let the slave traders win!

Good idea
The suggestion makes sense, and would be another step that would help to close the gap between new players and veterans.

Yeah,
Didn't feel good about selling Zander, albeit he was only 3rd lvl, but it was better than killing him off, and it did bring in a bit more silver to TLC before I left.

Good idea ... it also opens the opportunity to introduce higher Hire Levels for Knights.

This is a very good concept ... needs cost review(increase) and perhaps some limitations ... maybe a Noble Point cost too?

You travelled South.
You are currently at position (250,250)
The beasts around here have an average level of 802.
A Dragon [Level 1002.1] appeared and started attacking!
The judges saw!

Definitely a good solution - this is something I was considering among other options to tweaking how hiring skill works so it makes sense to add more levels, glad to see people approve of some kind of change here.

It does feel bad to 'dispose' of your old Knights, so I definitely like this training up take on it... seems like a good way to go and better than some of the other options I was toying with,

I have to plan out exactly how it should work, but the general idea of giving up some levels to turn into a higher knight type once you have unlocked it seems good!

A heads up, please
It would be helpful if you could give us an idea of when to expect major changes to the level-ups that you are planning, and the items that we should consider saving up to be able to implement the changes (e.g., should we be saving up Silver, Gcs, Entitlements and/or Edicts)

Preparation...H?
If you're going to give advance notice about implementing this if you do implement it, then be sure everyone that plays the game can see it. It should be News or something like that. Gives us all an equal chance to prepare if we log in!

It has been over a year...
Ben has no interest in this game.

Just play like you always do and don't worry about him changing things...it will never happen.
