God of Darkness(a fresh start)
So since I don't have access to my old account (sir vale) since I lost the password and haven't played for so long I am restarting g.o.d here.

Come, come listen to a old mans story of a time long past. When the land was in chaos and man fought monster and man himself. A time when Rieuter, the god of Darkness vanished and his forces ran unchecked across the land. This was a darkened time and war was afoot through out the 9 kingdoms of Jekril. The lands large and proud included many beasts and races including dragons and some more mystical such as roaming elements . To the south in the volcanic regions lay the kingdoms of demon and orc kind. To the north in the subtle fields and woodlands the humans and elves lived in harmony. To the mountainous east lived the dwarves a hardy and stout people and their enemies the vast hordes of goblins. To the west lay the jungles where the cat man and serpent people live whilst plotting against man and around this massive and mighty land lay the vast and all encompassing ocean where mermen ruled the seas with a mighty fist. In these times the gods watched over the people with a careful countering each others influences with their powers but alas the god of darkness Rieuter vanished one day leaving his armies of evil to run across the lands and inciting war amongst the masses. To this end the kingdoms of man, elven kind and dwarfs formed a alliance to search for the god to end the plight of their people....

This is the story of the journey of different races and people to find the god of darkness, Rieuter and bring about the reining in of his forces with his power. You can choose from a variety of races such as though listed above or others if you prefer just no god like characters. To make a char follow the guide below and we will try to start when we have at least 3-4 people but more can join along the way.

Name: Aki Saru-Kai
Race: Primate
Age: 495 moons (about 38 human years)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 158
Appearance: Aki is a lean, slightly scruffy looking primate, who sorta resembles an overgrown monkey with many humanoid features. He has mottled light gray fur covering most of his body, and a long tail that is used for balance and is capable of supporting his own weight with ease. There are four bright blue studs in his right ear.

Job/Profession: Pirate Captain.

Weapons: His primary weapon is a light weight grappling hook that he mostly uses to disarm or immobilize opponents. He has a small buckler strapped to his left arm, which due to its design, grants him almost complete freedom of movement in his left hand. He also carries a couple Bolas, which provide him a ranged immobilize.

Armor: He has dark metal wrist guards on his arms, but very little armor otherwise. He typically wears a white tunic with simple brown pants.

Spells or Racial abilities: He possesses no magic or magical items/skills. Because of his race, he is very acrobatic and light-footed, with near perfect balance, thanks in large part to his tail. He also can grip extremely well with his feet.

Bio: Aki grew up in the western jungles before coming into possession of a ship, which he is constantly making up new stories for how exactly he came to own it. He is extremely light-hearted and easy to get along with, although he is also quite mischievous. His story begins with his boat docking into a small northern town along the coast.

Ooc:Well we have enough to start. People can join along the way if they wish sooo lets grt into it,and sweet we got a monkey.

IC: The field near the town of Edinburgh lay filled with the fresh corpses of a recently finished skirmish between demon raiders and human townsfolk. Among the bodies sat Roktar, cleaning his axe of blood. He was hired along with a few more of his clan to help provide short term protection until the human reinforcements showed up. The third attack this week, he was beginning to think this wasn't worth the pay. Edinburgh lay south near the kingdom lines of the demons and touching the orc clans land slightly. The ocean was adjacent as a river ran to it and docks were a large part of the town. Finishing his cleaning he gathered up the spoils and went into town to trade them off. Something was definitely off but he could neither gather what or why.

Reman led the militia toward the southern border town of Edinburgh, his troops numbering close to seventy-five. They had had a peaceful few days in transit, their neighboring towns taking the brunt of the assaults to assist their transfer.

The sun was still high in the sky when they arrived. The town had suffered another attack recently; the mercenaries and surviving town guards were still shuffling back in. Reman immediately met with the commanding officer of the town, to see where his men were needed most.

His men took their posts, as ordered, and integrated the relief supplies with the town. With that task done, Reman went off to speak to the lower officers, mercenary captains, and any other commanders, to gather information at this particular site.

Selling the weapons he had recovered Roktar was told by one of his men that the human commander of the reinforcements had arrived. "Time to get paid and see what's going in I'd suppose." He thought aloud and headed over to the main camp for the new soliders.

Looking around he headed for the commander's tent and opened it stepping inside and announced his arrival. "Roktar of the Eye rippers clan mercenaries reporting in. Whom is the leader here? "

"We all are. City commander is in the tent yonder." Reman answered, jutting his thumb in the direction of the commander's tent to the right.

"I'm Reman, commander of the Hapsvale militia," he continued. The other commanders sounded off their names and ranks; militias, border patrols, mercenary companies, knight orders, etc.

"We were discussing a counter-attack. Intelligence is minimal, so maybe you have some information that could prove valuable?" Reman inquired, ready for any and all the help he could muster.

"Tch. You humans have been getting soft since we were hired. Although even for a town close to the border this many demon attacks in a month let alone a year is troubling. Seems like scouting parties or raiders if I didn't know better." Roktar looks at at Remun.

"I'm Roktar. Leader of the Eye-rippers mercenary group. Not sure what in the 9 hells is happening but we've gotten reports border settlements have been under numerous attacks and raiding groups have been growing at a alarming even enough that humans would higher us and it wasn't for war but for protection. Reman furrowed his brow at the orc. The orcs that ally themselves with humanity either hate demons or need cash; either way, it wasn't out of any kind of good relations between the races.

"We still hold the south, Roktar. And we're preparing for a counter attack. Hardly soft," Reman said, making sure to stay focused. "We all figured scouts and probes were what we're dealing with, but we're not certain. We need to find out to call down the entire Royal Army down here and send for aid from our Elvish brethren and our Dwarvish sympathizers."

One of the other commanders pointed to a map in the center of the tent. His was high and light as he said, "A counter-attack would just be a raid, like theirs. They hold forts rather than settlements, so we'll take one and survey the area. from one of their towers, we should see if they have an awaiting host."

Reman turned back to Roktar after the commander finished. "You know the lands to the south better than the others here. How far would the nearest tower be? How difficult to take such a fortification? Would this even be a good idea in the first place?"

Roktar scoffed when asked about the southern garrisons. "Entering the demon lands with nothing less than a few hundred humans would be a good start for a raid. You forget how squishy you humans....tend to be." Looking over the map Roktar pointed to a small pass over a wide river that led to the ocean. "Here is where would we want to go through. A choke point if we need to retreat and that area is well known to orc raids on demon soil."

Roktar outlined the land in question. He updated the maps to show 3 small forts and a heavily fortified stronghold in that section. "The key is the stronghold. Close to the bridge and a good supply point we can push from there. The problem the enemies numbers have been in flux as of late. But *in a arrogant tone* with my men we can take it." Rotkar waited for a response.

Reman considered. The orc made it sound like a campaign, but that was expected. And if they only needed about one hundred, they could leave more troops on the defensive.

And if the orc wanted to have the battle glory, that was fine too. What else were mercenaries for?

But the forts in question...their primary priority was intelligence. As long as they figured out if, or where, the demon army was approaching, they would send a runner to the Royal Army. Then the kingdom would be at a far lesser risk.

"Very well, Roktar. I will take a hundred and leave the rest as defense. Bring who you like. Let us take the stronghold and keep a watch for the enemy." Reman stood up and spouted off a few other orders to the other commanders in the tent. They'd handle things here and would default to send for the Royal Army to spread out equally along the border should the raid fail.

OOC:other people need to post as well

IC: Looking at Reman Roktar nodded in approval. He strode out into the open and called for his men to prepare to march. The clouds were darkening and Roktar felt the stirrings of war coming.

"This shall be glorious, the fires will burn into the night sky like fireflies to the embers of a torch" he thought aloud.

Reman collected his own men for a small pep talk. The coming days will be dark and full of peril. As the sky darkened, Reman lead his one-hundred men, and what supplies they could carry, south, toward the blasted lands of demons and orcs.

The mission sounds simple enough, but underestimation is an ingredient for disaster. Caution was his ally this time.

After the supplies had been gathered and his men geared up, Roktar signaled for the march to commence. The trek would would be slow but the battles would be worth it Roktar thought. Peering over to the human lines of men marching he pondered how many would die for no orc would fall to a demon but man surely would, wouldn't they?

It took them no time at all to reach the blasted southern lands.

During every venture into this southern territory, there was a certain degree of loss expected simply of going near these lands. The air smelled of sulfur and death, the land was blackened and lifeless, while the jagged hills and harsh slopes jutted out toward the sky like splintered trees.

Foraging was impossible; few things grew here and the little that did was harsh and vile, suitable only for the native inhabitants.

Reman had prepared extra rations for the troops, extra medical supplies, and still planned on rushing this mission. For down in the demonic and orcish lands, there was only death for the likes of them.

They moved onward toward the fort, warily watching the broken landscape before them.
